Arthur Nibbs is a politician from Antigua and Barbuda. He represents the Antigua Labour Party in the Antiguan Senate. Born in Barbuda, he was educated at the Holy Trinity School and the Antigua Grammar School.
Leonard Tim Hector was a leftist Antiguan political leader and cricket administrator known for his opposition to the rule of the Bird family. After attending the Antigua Grammar School and teaching there, Hector attended Acadia University and McGill University. He broke off graduate studies in Philosophy at McGill to return to home, where he felt his contribution was then needed. Hector was a founder of the Antigua Caribbean Liberation Movement in 1968. The party supported socialism, the Cuban Revolution, and a pan-Caribbean vision. He published the newspaper The Outlet and the column Fan the Flame. He was born Leonard Churchill Hector but his grandfather called him "Tim" as a term of endearment stemming from the Russian General Semyon Timoshenko.
Captain Ian Donald Roy McDonald was a World War I flying ace credited with 20 aerial victories. Although born in the British West Indies, he returned to England to serve in the air force. After his successful career in combat, he spent a short while at home before returning to the colours. He served in Iraq postwar, and was executed there by insurgents.
